Poe utilizes a heap of settings and plots in his accounts and sonnets. The consistent idea is that his storytellers have all the earmarks of being crazy. This is displayed in ââ¬Å"The Cask of Amontilladoâ⬠, ââ¬Å"The Tell Tale Heartâ⬠, and ââ¬Å"The Black Cat.â⬠Montressor, the storyteller of ââ¬Å"The Cask of Amontillado,â⬠shows madness. Toward the start of the story, Montressor talks with extreme displeasure and regret. The peruser is then informed that the episode happened fifty years prior. Clearly, an individual who might hold resentment for a long time so emphatically that he wants to murder a man, this storyteller has mental issues. Additionally, the way that Montressor carefully arranged out the homicide of Fortunato shows that he is over the top and has mental issues. The homicide that Montressor executed him, by tying him up to a divider and building a divider around him, is a twisted, remorseless approach to slaughter him.
